After years of diminishing water supplies made even worse by drought, some areas are resorting to a plan that might have seemed absurd a generation ago: turning sewage into drinking water. Officials have worked to dispel any fears that people will be drinking their neighbors’ urine, promising that the system will yield clean, safe water.
Well this answers my question. The other day I was thinking about water conservation tactics after reading about the drought in Somalia. I was wondering if any system was in place to filter our waste water, because we all know the shower and the toilet use tons of water. Now I know there is no system, but kudos to Texas for being the first!. It is absolutely possible, and even if you were skeptical, there are plenty of water filters you can buy like Brita and Pur….
